A Shadow Drama in Five Acts (1995) was withdrawn from view at the Detroit Institute of Art's exhibition Where the girls are; there were calls to censor the artist's No mere words can Adequately reflect the Remorse this Negress feels at having been Cast into such a lowly state... from an exhibition at UCLA's Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Cultural Center (Los Angeles). Notes that there have been significant negative responses to the work from African American artists and arts supports groups. ;
