Abstract :
Recounts the founding of the church in Troina, completed by 1081, that eventually became the cathedral and now serves as the Collegiata di S. Maria Assunta. Records that the building's crypt in 1580 was granted to the Arciconfraternita dei Bianchi, who made it their oratory of SS. Sacramento. Studies an early 15th-c. Christ Pantocrator painted in an apse of the crypt. Attributes it to the same hand as was responsible for the central portion of the paintings on the wooden ceiling of the cathedral in Nicosia, the Master of the Saints. ;
