- On a preparatory study for a ceiling painting, at the center of which is a depiction of S. John's martyrdom in boiling oil (Paris, Louvre). The drawing, which also depicts the arms of the patron Cesare Rasponi, was for a lost painting in S. Giovanni a Porta Latina in Rome. Descriptions from 1716 by Crescimbeni of Gismondi's paintings for the church are presented here and document the location of the ceiling composition. ;
