Abstract :
On the historical and structural research carried out (1920s) on the cupola of S. Peter's, Rome, by the architect Luca Beltrami and the engineer Antonio Federico Jorini. [Beltrami published the results of this research in La cupola vaticana (Città del Vaticano, 1929)]. Focuses on their architectural analysis of the conservation and restoration history (18th-19th cs.) of the cupola, and their proposals for treating the static problems. ;
