- Profiles the organization and technical aspects of 17th-c. construction sites opened in Rome by the Chigi family. Examines the workforce, building site machinery, waterworks system and masonry techniques. Observes that in most cases (not only in Chigi projects but throughout Baroque Rome) building consisted in the reuse and restoration of preextant masonry rather than ex-novo construction. ;
