- As a medieval fortress, Akershus castle is unique in Scandinavia and as a national monument. Criticizes the fact that since 1999 research on the castle has not been given priority. Notes new discoveries made since 1999 and argues that modern archaeological analysis could give grounds for new interpretations and the correction of previous errors. ;
