- Drawing on an unpublished letter by Antonio Canova (St. Petersburg, National Library of Russia), in connection with documents from the Biblioteca civica di Bassano del Grappa, reexamines Canova's single Russian commission Peace (Kiev Museum of Western and Oriental Art). Proposes that the sculpture was commissioned by Count Nikolai Petrovich Rumiantsev. ;
