Summarizes the publishing and illustration history (late 15th-17th cs.) of Boethius's De consolatione philosophiae. Examines the iconography and sources, and comments on the artistic contexts of woodcut illustrations in three illustrated early 16th-c. editions (Strasbourg, 1500; Strasbourg, 1501; and Lyon, 1521). ;
