Abstract :
Describes the planned organization of the new exhibition rooms in the Museo nazionale archeologico in the Palazzo de Nordis (restored, 1990-2000), Cividale del Friuli. Once the restoration is complete, the collection will be divided between the Palazzo Pretorio (Roman and Lombard archeological materials) and the Palazzo de Nordis (8th-19th-c. painting, sculpture, tapestry and decorative arts). Observes that because of the expanded space, many pieces will be displayed for the first time, and surveys several key pieces in Palazzo de Nordis, including a 10th-c. gilt silver cross and a 14th-15th-c. silver bust reliquary of S. Permerina Sofia da Faedis (both from the treasury of the Tempietto longobardo), and a triptych (ca.1501), SS. John the Baptist, John the Evangelist and Benedict by Pellegrino da San Daniele from the church of S. Giovanni, Cividale del Friuli. ;
