- Abstract :
- Discusses the iconography of the 16th-c. west front sculptures at Bath Abbey in Bath, England. Focuses on the sculptural figures of Christ as the Man of Sorrows Holding the Charter of Human Redemption (ca.1500-1525; north aisle window) as a symbol of humility and of the Antichrist (ca.1500-1525; south aisle window) as a symbol of pride. Also discusses the personification of humility and pride in medieval manuscript illuminations. <Continues the author's research presented in Religion and the arts, v.4, no.3 (2000)>. ;
