- Identifies the hand of the 15th-c. scribe who wrote the Duke of Northumberland's copy of the Canterbury tales in seven other manuscripts, including copies of the prose Brut chronicle. Evidence suggests that he supervised less experienced scribes in writing portions of some copies in a workshop setting, and that this demonstrates a multi-copy production of texts in England before the introduction of print. ;
