- Examines the culture and art of Slovenia during the Gothic period, noting the influences of the Catholic Church and feudalism. Discusses the frescoes and architecture of Slovenia's churches, the sculpture and painting of the period, the importance of Ptuj (Pettau) as an artistic center, and the strong influence of the Counts of Cilli during the late Gothic. Compares the artistic output of central Slovenia to the northern part of the country. ;
