- Examines the historical development of exhibition techniques for art works, including painting exhibitions in 17th-c. Italy, the arrangements of paintings in the Grande Galerie of the Louvre, and the organization of Documenta 5 (1972) in Kassel, Germany. Examines the ways that such techniques create a unified space of viewing that develops a ready audience and a market for the displayed objects. ;
