- Traces the history of alterations and restorations made to the 14th-c. Church of the Holy Cross in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. Demonstrates that, despite the church's significance as an architectural monument, few scholars have investigated the history of its restorations until recently. Focuses especially on renovations performed during the second half of the 19th c. and on early 20th-c. reception of those repairs. ;
