Book derives from the work of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Centre for the Study of the Domestic Interior, a five-year collaboration between three institutions in London - the Royal College of Art, Victoria and Albert Museum, and Bedford Centre for the History of Women at Royal Holloway, University of London.
