Reviews a survey of die Brücke art, marking the centennial of the birth of German Expressionism (Madrid, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Fundacion Caja, to 15 May 2005; Barcelona, Museo Nacional de Arte de Catalunya, 31 May-4 Sept 2005; and Berlin, Berlinische Galerie and Brücke-Museum, 2 Oct 2005-15 Jan 2006). The exhibition featured paintings, drawings, and prints by such artists as Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. ;
