- Describes the 19th-20th-archaeological history of the catacomb on the island of Pianosa (Tuscany region). Focuses on the results of the 1997-1999 excavation and conservation of the site (by the Pontificia Commissione di Archeologia Sacra), providing a close description of the topography and dating the use of the site to the late 3d-early 6th cs. Also considers the possibility that during the Early Christian period it was inhabited by monks or hermits. ;
