Abstract :
Reports on the restoration of two marble sculptures, Girl Playing the Lute amd Girl Playing the Lyre (both 1909-1913; Berlin, Alte Nationalgalerie), once forming part of a commemorative monument to Joseph Joachim, director of the Königlich-Akademische Hochschule für Musik. The sculptures, designed by Adolf von Hildebrand and executed by his pupil Adolf Rothenburger, were modeled after sculptures in the Alte Pinakothek (München). ;
