A copy by Gainsborough Dupont of Van Dyck's painting of the family of the 4th Earl of Pembroke (Wilton House), has recently resurfaced in a private collection, and provides an opportunity for comparison and clarification of differences in technique with the copy by his uncle Thomas Gainsborough (Castle Ashby). ;
