- Abstract :
- Speculates about the high prices realized by paintings by Gustav Klimt, for example the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (1907), which was purchased by Ronald Lauder. It was one of five Klimt paintings looted by the Nazis and then restituted to the heirs of the Bloch-Bauer family by the Austrian Belvedere Gallery in Vienna in 2006. The other paintings were sold at Christie's for over their estimated value. ;
