- Aims to prove that the chevet of the church of S. Jean l'Evangeliste can be dated to 1130 on the basis of documentary and structural evidence, and seeks to establish a stylistic context for the work. Looks at architectural and sculpture features of the chevet, and relates this dated monument to a number of nearly contemporary churches in Poitou in an attempt to define Poitevin style during this period. ;
