- Katja Valanne and Jarno Jokinen represent and express something very original in contemporary Finnish art. Their work escapes definition; their exhibitions aim at causing the spectator to let go of attempts at recognition and to fall into a state that 'cannot be thought about.' They manipulate space, using it as a tool to turn the familiar into the unknown, yet keeping it very neutral. ;
