Abstract :
Outlines the culture of the Polish nobility in its European context. Demonstrates that the influence of France was more often seen in the typology of their residences, in the assignment and arrangement of rooms, and in their decoration, than in the architectural vocabulary employed. In the visual and audio-temporal arts a reliance on Italy was still most commmon and fashionable until the 18th c. ;
